Village Welfare Society (VWS), is an environment friendly socio-economic-cultural development organization, has been working on improvement of life and livelihoods of disadvantaged peoples in West Bengal since 1982, Our sincere efforts are all – inclusive with services in the sector of education, health care, old aged care, social and economic empowerment, food and livelihood security, water and sanitation, disaster preparedness, management and risk reduction, and Income generation through vocational trainings.
Apart from the regular activities, during the year, we emphasized on issue based campaigns like, save he girl child, save water, save soil, environmental protection & regeneration, International Women’s Day, Clean Kolkata etc. Now it has spread out its focused activities in the adjacent state of Bihar.
All the districts of West Bengal and extended in some districts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Orissa, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Sikkim states in India. It is also associated with Association of Micro Finance Institution (AMFI), West Bengal, SA-DHAN, New Delhi.
VWS runs many campaigns on pertinent social issues to generate awareness, and garner funds in an effort to overcome poverty and empower women, childs & senior citizens.

The volunteer programme with VWS is thronged as a dedicated service of minimum one month to maximum six months. We believe that to work for social change you need to contribute a substantial amount of time to understand the needs and cater in the best possible way with your unique skill set. If you want to volunteer for events and campaigns, the time is minimum one day and maximum a week.
